Rwenzori Mountains, Uganda

The Rwenzori Mountains, located in Western Uganda, are often called the “Mountains of the Moon” for their misty, rugged landscapes. Here, coffee is grown at elevations of 1500 to 1800 metres, where cool temperatures, volcanic soil, and ample rainfall create ideal conditions for producing distinctive, high-quality Arabica beans.
The unique DRUGAR (Dried Ugandan Arabica) processing method, traditionally used by farmers in this region, results in beans with deep, fruity notes and a natural sweetness that reflects the richness of the Rwenzori terrain.

Agri Evolve

Founded in 2016, Agri Evolve partners with farmers across the Rwenzori Mountains, combining traditional practices with innovative processing techniques to unlock the full potential of Uganda’s Arabica beans. Their work goes beyond coffee; it’s about empowering a community, preserving a heritage, and refining a craft that’s passed down through generations. Each cup of Crew Roast tells the story of this vibrant region and the people devoted to cultivating its exceptional coffee.

Nyamasheke Hills, Rwanda

The Nyamasheke Hills rise above Lake Kivu in Rwanda’s lush Western Province, where volcanic soils and cool elevations between 1,800–2,000 metres provide perfect growing conditions for high-quality arabica. This natural-processed lot is packed with juicy, red fruit flavour, thanks to the sunny climate and careful drying techniques that allow the beans to develop a syrupy sweetness and rich, chocolatey finish.

Rwamatamu

Founded by Laetitia Mukantwaza and Gaston Rutaganda, Rwamatamu is a family-run business built on a mission to improve rural livelihoods through coffee. From women-led farming cooperatives to a youth programme teaching the next generation of growers, their work goes beyond coffee – it’s about empowerment and long-term change. With new facilities, a cupping lab, and ongoing experimentation in fermentation, Rwamatamu is pushing Rwandan coffee forward while staying rooted in community.
