Frequently asked questions

No - pressing should feel smooth and easy. Your coffee may be too fine which can block the flow. Therefore, grind slightly coarser, and check your filter isn't clogged up.

Rinsing removes the papery flavours from the coffee, preheats the brewer and helps the filter stick in place.

The story behind the AeroPress

Invented in 2005 by Alan Adler (who also created the Aerobie throwing ring), the AeroPress is an unusual yet immensely popular coffee brewer. It works similarly to a large syringe: hot water and coffee steep inside the main chamber before a piston is used to press the brew through a paper filter. The result is a smooth, well-balanced cup of coffee that can be enjoyed at home or taken anywhere you travel.
